Fundamentals – Wall Pass, Long Pass

Set Up: There are 8-10 players set up in the large grid, with players starting at the cones.
Procedure: To begin the drill, Player A wall passes with Player B, and then plays a long pass to Player C. Player C turns and plays the ball up to Player D, who then wall passes with Player E. From there, Player D  F  A. As the ball moves around the grid, the players rotate counter-clockwise to the next cone.

Teaching Topics:
1 Speed of play.
2 Passing.
3 Checking runs.

Progressions:
1 Progress to wall pass drills in the penalty area.

Coaching Points:
1 Use one touch passes whenever possible, and two touches when you have to.
2 Before passing, look up and check for the target one last time.
3 Check away, and then break back to the ball. Don’t receive the ball standing still.
